Our Mission Statement

Black Moon Collective is a group of Black Artists who reside in the Tulsa area. Our mission is to break standards, push innovation, and cultivate creativity among our local and global community. We see art as a healing element - expanding minds and viewpoints, while confronting conformity. As a group of individual artists, we have come together to uplift and push one another to be the best form of our artistic and personal selves, while pursuing the dream to becoming successful living and working artists as a lifelong career. BLACK MOON wants to be a channel that brings unity, awareness, and hope to neglected parts in our community, by making art accessible and viewable to all.

This will be a juried process by a select few of the collective and outside advisors. We would like to extend the opportunity to be a part of Black Moon to other artists who meet our eligibility, criteria, and requirements.

The Opportunity

Black Moon believes that we are strong as individuals and even stronger together. We have been fortunate to be able to grow as an artistic entity in our area. We've participated in over 40 events including shows, exhibitions, art festivals, installations, and commissions. We have been published in The Root, NBCNews, and featured on several local news stations and publications. We've shown art in several art institutions, including the Philbrook Museum in Tulsa, OK, Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa, OK, and the Art Hall in Oklahoma City.

As an artist collective, we have a level of support and the desire to see each of us succeed in our community through activism, community engagement, business knowledge, and artistic techniques. As a member of Black Moon, we provide our collective members with exposure, website presence, workshops, critique groups, best business practices, collaborations, exhibitions, learning, and other artistic opportunities. Our goal is to propel artists into becoming living, working, and successful creatives who would like to bring their artistic talent into a more lucrative and self-sustaining practice for the future.
