Inspired by my imagination, I like to create figures, forms, and artistic pieces that display my skill for detail, craftsmanship and execution. I use patterns unconventionally in my drawings, prints and sculptures, that draw the eye as they are striking yet unusual. Color often brings these details to life. I believe that representation is one of the most powerful tools I can show to reflect that. Portraying people of color and depicting art that relates to myself and others as a woman of color is a constant focus as an artist. Many times, the stories that are closely related to your personal narrative are the stories that are most memorable. I would like to share more of my story in my art, while also telling the stories of others so that the viewer can see that they are in fact not alone, and that there is more that connects us than divides us.
